Aura Hammam
The Aura hammam is an oasis of retreat from daily routines and stress. The body and mind
are enveloped in a soothing tranquility, whilst all the senses are delighted by the gracious
proportions of space. Here, enjoy a simple moment of escape in meditation whilst listening
to the calming sound of flowing water, or indulge in a rejuvenating treatment with an expert
therapist. The following treatment rituals may be reserved in our private tepidarium couples
or singles suites.
The hammam ritual during summer or in warm tropical regions helps to lower the body
temperature thanks to its refreshing action. The gradual progression from cooler to warmer
areas allows the body to adapt naturally and your enjoyment of the hammam can be
practiced without harmful effects. Should you however have any particular medical
condition that would normally prevent you from using a facility like a sauna, please consult
our Spa Manager for advice.
Before commencing your journey in the hammam please change into appropriate
swimwear and cover yourself using the wrap provided. You will need to shower on
entering the main tepidarium and slippers that are provided at the entrance must be worn
for hygiene and safety reasons at all times. The tepidarium is a large, warm and slightly
humid room with heated marble benches, mosaics and jets of water to bathe in. A brief
rest in the heated pool helps to commence the relaxation and allows you to become
acclimatised to this unique environment.
When experiencing the Divine Hammam Ritual your therapist will lead you to your private
treatment tepidarium where you will be allowed to change into appropriate disposable
underwear. After a splash down with warm water, you will move to the Caldarium
(Steam room) where the average 55ºC temperature exerts beneficial action on the arterial
pressure, gives more elasticity to the skin while perspiring allows toxins to be eliminated
leaving the skin ready to receive the treatments that follow.
Commencing with an all-over black soap wash, you will be allowed back to the
Caldarium to continue massaging the fragrant eucalyptus suds into your skin before
returning for a wash down. Your therapist will then allow you to relax on the heated marble
table before commencing with a peeling for a deep exfoliation of the skin with a traditional
rough glove, again followed by a wash down of the body. You may at this stage like
to brave the cold plunge pool which will have an invigorating effect following the skin
cleansing treatments.
Again on the marble slab you will be allowed to relax for about ten minutes in a traditional
body wrap. At the same time a honey face mask will be applied leaving you feeling
completely rejuvenated. Once washed down, the ritual culminates with a deep body white
soap massage to thoroughly relax your muscles and ease any remaining physical tension to
achieve that divine Aura hammam feeling.
Your therapist will allow you time to change after providing you with a waterproof bag for
any wet personal effects. You will be bid farewell with a pot of our special Aura hammam
tea while you linger in the heated pool of the main tepidarium.

A divine hammam experience including a vigorous full body cleanse, a body scrub, mask,
facial and massage to leave you feeling completely rejuvenated.
The Cleansing Ritual (75 mins)
Remove all impurities in this magnificent cleansing ritual. A deep scrub, cleansing, body
wrap and steam regenerate the skin. Ideal for all who want to rediscover their skin’s natural
health and luminosity.
The Tension Release Ritual (75 mins)
Allow the water to flow over your soap lathered skin after easing the stiffness out of your
muscles in the privacy of your own steam room. A massage then invigorates your tired
body whilst you lie on a heated marble slab.
The Classic Beauty Ritual (60 mins)
This ritual is specially designed to restore the body’s natural beauty and glow. With a full
body cleanse, a body wrap and a honey facial mask carried out on a heated marble slab,
indulge in a haven of luxurious pampering. |

Main Tepidarium
Aura hammam also proposes the following treatments which take place in the
Main Tepidarium, enabling you to enjoy a classic therapy with a group of friends
in a light-hearted social ambiance.
The Traditional Cleanse (15 mins)
A vigorous body cleanse with traditional black soap followed by a body scrub with a
rough glove. Leaves the skin invigorated and glowing.
The Traditional White Soap Massage (25 mins)
Relax on a heated marble slab whilst a professional therapist eases out the stiffness from
your muscles after washing you down.
The Hair Beauty Ritual (45 mins)
After any hammam treatment, enjoy a luxurious Kerastase hair ritual to nourish and nurture
your hair, followed by a wash and blowdry. |
